Charities

GUSA has selected a charity to fund raise for this year.  The charity is Children 1st (formerly the NSPCC).

Children 1st has been around in some form for over 120 years and work to give every child in Scotland a safe and secure childhood.  To go to the Children 1st website click on the logo.

RAG WEEK 2008 – 25th to 29th February 2008

Events in 2007

GUSA raised a grand total of £633 for Children 1st between the two events held on Tuesday 27th and Thursday 29th November.

Tuesday 27th saw GUSA descend on Kushion to determine which club was worthy of the ‘Team GUSA’ crown. Tennis were victorious in a closely contended battle with Swimming.

The rounds included talent, swimwear, knowledge and a dance off. There was also a raffle with local businesses donating prizes for the lucky winners with the most prestigious prizes being sought after gym memberships!

The club demonstration night was also a great success with boxing, cheerleading, aikido, judo, karate, kendo, capoiera and muay thai all showcasing their talents. Each club had a ten minute slot to strut their stuff and wow the crowds while Henry Ainslie interviewed a club representative to find out what makes their sport so special!
