Events in 2007/08

GUSA raised a grand total of £1394 for Children 1st between over four events in session 07/08.  GUSA present the cheque for £1394 to Children 1st

As part of National Raising and Giving Week, GUSA ran a Rags to Riches fashion show on Thursday 28th February in the dining room of the GUU. Models from within the GUSA membership took to the catwalk to model a variety of clothes kindly donated by Debenhams. A raffle and clothes sale also took place to contribute to the success of the evening!

The club demonstration night on 29/11/07 was also a great success with boxing, cheerleading, aikido, judo, karate, kendo, capoiera and muay thai all showcasing their talents. Each club had a ten minute slot to strut their stuff and wow the crowds while Henry Ainslie interviewed a club representative to find out what makes their sport so special!

27/11/07 saw GUSA descend on Kushion, for the first of two fundraisers at the venue, to determine which club was worthy of the ‘Team GUSA’ crown. Tennis were victorious in a closely contended battle with Swimming.

The rounds included talent, swimwear, knowledge and a dance off. There was also a raffle with local businesses donating prizes for the lucky winners with the most prestigious prizes being sought after gym memberships!

Thanks to all who contributed to make the events so successful!
