JOB DESCRIPTIONS

President

  • Full time sabbatical position.
  • Oversees the general running of GUSA.
  • Ensures a strong representation on student sport at Glasgow.
  • Actively involved in the development planning
  • Works closely with SRS management to sustain and develop the partnership.


Vice-President Clubs

  • Liases with the Sports Development officer, working to improve infrastructure within clubs.
  • Gains feed back from clubs on all aspects of club sport.

Vice-President Recreational Sport

  • Gains feedback on the services provided by the SRS.
  • Involved in the implementation of recreational leagues in various sports.
  • Both Vice-Presidents are jointly responsible for organising the Annual Awards Dinner and Dance.

Secretary

  • Gives notice of Council meetings and club seminars.
  • Organises the submission of and awarding of Blues.
  • Administer the annual GUSA elections

Finance Convenor

  • Oversees the distribution of funds to all GUSA clubs.
  • Explains decisions made by the Finance Committee to clubs.
  • Works closely with the finance administrator and club treasurers

Travel Convenor

  • Oversees the allocation of the 5 GUSA mini buses.
  • Chairs the Travel Committee meetings.
  • Works closely with the Travel administrator.

Property Convenor

  • Ordering and distributing kit.
  • Liase with the SRS to update Equipment Replacement Plans.
  • Responsible for the Trophies.

Charities and Outreach Convenor

  • Organising fundraising events for GUSA’s chosen charity.
  • Building links with the local community through student coaching programmes.

Publicity Convenor

  • Responsible for publicising all GUSA and sporting events within the university.
  • Collates and submits articles to the University and external publications.
  • Raising the profile of Glasgow University sport both within and out with the University.

Recreational Sport

  • Works closely with the Vice-President Recreational Sport and the Sports Development Team.
  • Presence at Drop in sessions.

Ordinary Members

  • Allocated to each of the Finance, Travel and Publicity committees.
  • Two Ordinary Associate members allocated to Recreational Sport and Health & Fitness.
  • Assist the convenors in their roles.

All the GUSA Council members must fulfil at least one office hour a week. During this time they are available to answer questions and deal with any problems you might have relating to sport at the University of Glasgow.
