Sports involvement in volunteering and charity work is one of the fastest growing non-academic areas within the Higher Education Sector. The range of opportunities available can have a significant impact on not only a student’s extra curricular development, but also to the University and the wider community.
Whilst the primary purpose of coming to University is to gain your chosen degree, it is apparent that evidence of additional new skills and experiences are higher on employee’s agendas.
We have strong links with local schools as well as working in partnership with the Glasgow City Council Active Schools Programme. These links allow us to place a wide variety of students into different areas of the community whilst coaching or leading different sports and activities.
By volunteering, either by helping out with one of the many charity events, or signing up to the Outreach Programme you will be able to contribute to your student life and personal development. These include:
We provide these opportunities to all students of all ages. If you would like further information on any aspect of the charities and outreach opportunities please contact Kate Mackie, the Charities & Outreach Convenor.
