The GUFC is arguably the best structured and most successful sports club at the University.
During your first two years at university you will receive top class SFA coaching focusing on development while competing in SFA youth under 19’s and 21’s league on Saturdays.
Your development will continue into our 1st or 2nd team who compete at high levels in Glasgow’s Amateur Leagues. Furthermore, the University is affiliated with the SFA and so we compete in the qualifying cup, where all semi-finalists are entered into the Tennents Scottish Cup. In 2004, we played Brechin City in the first round.
The club is also involved in the Scottish Intervarsity League, which is played on a Wednesday afternoon. Three teams compete, with our 1st team always among the strongest Universities.
However that’s just the football. The GUFC are famous for there nights outs, social events, club tours (to places like Prague and Toronto in recent years) along with our annual diddie sixes tournament.
So if you’re looking for a club that can offer you more than just a game on a Saturday afternoon then the mighty GUFC is for you...
