Hockey (Mens)

The GUMHC is the most active, vibrant and enthusiastic sports club at the University. We have three teams catering for all abilities - from beginners to experts, freshers to post grads, social players to serious athletes. Our 1st XI play in National Division 2, one of the few 1st XI’s in the University you will find competing against our rivals Edinburgh Uni on a Saturday. They also play in the top BUSA division in Scotland, and last year reached the semi-final of the BUSA Trophy. Our 2ndXI compete in Central 2 division, facing our Glasgow rivals Strathclyde, and, for the first year ever, BUSA Division 3. Our 3rd XI caters for novices, who are keen to play for the first time, or those who want to give it another chance supported by our two experienced coaches.

Don’t be fooled into thinking we are all about hockey! We are definitely the most social club on campus. Why not come down and join us for one of our numerous socials and we’ll prove it!

The friends you’ll make will be friends for life, and we can guarantee that whatever your experience of hockey, being a member of this club is one you will never forget.
