We compete at the highest level at three main disciplines throughout the academic year, small-bore target rifle, full-bore target rifle and clay pigeon shooting.

Small-bore target rifle shooting is predominantly held indoors at Bearsden. We compete in various competitions around Scotland in the SUS grand prix system which always involves an event after the shoot. Towards Easter the club sends a team to both SUS and BUSA outdoor matches. We also compete in postal leagues to avoid travelling vast distances to shoot.

Full-bore target rifle is held predominantly in the summer. Practices are generally on Wednesday afternoons through in Castlelaw in Edinburgh. This is in preparation for the National Imperial Meeting held by the National Rifle Association at Bisley - two weeks of individual and team competitions with three to four shoots each day followed by various social functions and BBQ’s.

The clay pigeon side of the club is run throughout the year with fortnightly practices in North Ayrshire. Our team competes in Trap, Skeet and Olympic Skeet at the SUS and BUSA matches held in various locations.

We can provide all kit and entry fees; however a small contribution to ammunition may be required. Shooting may not be for everyone but if you are curious come along and have a go!
