Want to have fun, meet awesome people and get fit? The Swimming and Waterpolo Club (GUSWPC) is one of the largest clubs at the University. We are not only a competitive club, but very social too.

Our club provides lots of training session’s open to all standards.

Swimming is the best exercise known to man. It not only improves practical and physical skills, but also helps you freshers keep the beer bellies at bay.

If you’re the type of person that gets bored easily, and prefers something with a little more action, water polo could be it!

Ever watched a water polo match? Well played, it can keep a viewer in awe at the skilful manoeuvres and quick sprints to retrieve or duck an opponent. Known to be brutal, water polo is however a skilled sport. Using teamwork, communication and finesse to over power the opposing seven players and crash the ball in there net. SCORE!

The swimming and water polo clubs compete during the first two terms in the Scottish University Leagues. Taking place on a Wednesday either at home or away, there are always friendly nights out after with the rival teams.

We also take part in other major competitions such as British Universities Championships, Stirling Sprints and the Scottish University Swimming and Water Polo Championships!

So if you think you can hack the training sessions, would like to meet a few friends or even let off a bit of steam, come along and try it out.
