Our exercise classes are free to members and are aimed at improving your health and wellbeing - not only can they increase your cardiovascular fitness and muscle condition, they are a great way to learn the basics and keep you motivated.
We encourage individuals to work out an intensity level that suits them; a guide to our classes and their intensity is set out below.
In the Stevenson Building, exercise classes take place in the Activity Hall (AH) and the Exercise Studio (ES). At Garscube classes take place in the Exercise Studio (ES).
Our classes are run as drop-in sessions, so there is no need to book and everyone is welcome, even if you have never taken part before. The exercise class programme can change on a termly basis.

ActiveAge 55+ (ES)
A low impact class for the older adult with a combination of aerobics and muscle conditioning. (Suitable for all levels)
Boxfit (AH)
A high-energy class packed with different boxing moves choreographed into a fun routine and mixed up with different exercises in between. This pumping class is a perfect way to box away the blues, raise fitness levels and burn calories! (Suitable for all levels)
Boxblast (AH)
No Choreography, no dancing, just action and sweat! A 30 minute class incorporating boxing type training including the use of pads and mitts, bags, skipping and core work. A great way to improve stamina, speed, strength and of course burn off those unwanted calories! (Suitable for all levels)
Circuit Express (AH)
Short of time? This 30-minute energy packed class is sure to give you a great full body workout incorporating CV training and muscular conditioning. You’ll be amazed what you can do in 30 minutes! (Suitable for all levels)
Core Balls (ES)
Think space hoppers without the handles! This class uses Swiss balls, which are a great tool for improving the body’s core strength and balance. (Suitable for all levels)
Groove FX (ES)
A fantastic dance based workout, broken down into easy to follow steps to unleash the Groover in you! With a brilliant fusion of Disco, Hip Hop, Latin, R & B, Jazz and the latest chart sounds, once you start, you’ll be hooked to this energetic, fun packed class. Strut that funky stuff now… (Suitable for all levels)
Hi-Lo Aerobics (AH)
A fun aerobic workout, with easy to follow moves, for all levels. The music and our dynamic instructors, motivate you to achieve a great cardio workout. Jane Fonda here we go! (Suitable for all levels)
Muscle Tone (ES)
A full body muscle conditioning class using dumbbells and body resistance to help define, shape and tone those muscles. Let’s pump it up! (Suitable for all levels)
Step (ES)
Choreographed exercise to music class with the use of a step, another great way to improve your CV fitness. (Moderate Intensity)
Stretch 2 Harmony (ES)
This class promotes a body to mind connection and leaves you feeling energised, relaxed and renewed. Starting with a carefully constructed holistic workout, this class involves stretching methods that will help increase you flexibility, range of movement and also help prevent injury. Wind down with some relaxation to promote harmony and inner calm. (Suitable for all levels)
Super Circuits (AH)
A fiercely energetic class that involves cardiovascular, endurance and strength training for your entire body. With a stimulating range of exercise stations that allow you to train at the intensity you want, without having to think too hard. This electric class is not one to be missed. (Moderate/High intensity)
Tune-Up (AH)
Wanting to improve your stamina? This 30 minute session involves no choreography, no equipment and no fuss! Just your heart, lungs and muscles are needed. (Suitable for all levels)
Urban Workout (meet in Stevenson Building)
A mixture of tune up and circuits in the park giving you a refreshing total body workout - using your body weight and the environment (benches, steps, hills, obstacles) enjoy a challenging class moving freely out in the fresh air. (Suitable for all levels)
10k Jogging Group (meet in Stevenson Building)
Do you prefer the outdoors? This session is aimed at people who are looking for an interesting and invigorating session throughout the delightful backdrop of Glasgow’s West End. (Suitable for all levels)
